Collector Car Insurance
Any experience or suggestions with collector car insurance? I think I'd like to switch coverage on my Cutlass over to an agreed value policy. I'm also wondering if any of the Olds clubs offer group rates to their members?

My wife has worked at Progressive insurance for 30 years so she handles it. I have Condon and Skelly, $249.00 a year for full coverage on 32,000 dollars agreed value, 300,000 dollar combined limit.
I have the car professionally appraised every couple of years by a certified and licensed appraiser to keep the agreed value in the right range, went up a realistic 4K last time.
A car just like my GTO, but not as nice, sold for $75,000 at the B-J auction, not in the real world.

Both of my Olds' are insured with Hagarty. Reason I picked them is that there are very few restrictions - I can drive my cars freely, as long as it is not back and forth to work or school - I had to have state farm prove I had a daily driver under their policy. The Olds' had to be garaged, too (which they would have been anyway...)
Cost was similar to Allan's above.
Always check the restrictions - some only cover the car for use in "parade duty" or "official club events"...

I use Grundy, agreed value, no age limits, unlimited miles, pleasure driving only (no work or school). Has to be garaged and you must have a daily driver. No drivers under the age of 26. 3 cars and 51k in coverage $550/year JKaz

I've shopped and Grundy offered the best rate with an agreed upon value. If I remember correctly Haggerty requires and appraisal. Grundy requests pics of 3 sides. If you want more that the agreed value you will need an appraisal

I have American Collectors, I think they might have what you want. As an aside, they are now offering an endorsement where you can drive your car up to 7500 miles ANYWHERE you want, even to work, anytime. My cars are laid up right now, but I'm going to be switching to this endo in the spring. NO MORE CLANDESTINE TRIPS TO WORK WITH THE 72 with this endorsement!
