Looking to shed some light on the different hood latches (2 styles not inc. the remote hood lock option) and the different latch mounting portion (2 styles) that is bolted to the core support.

I have seen two different latch mechanisms. I have seen one style mostly on 70 cars while the second style on 72 cars. 71 seems to be a mix.
On the core support brace the main difference i see is the center grill mounting holes. I see some with "4" nuts for mounting the grill ears. while i see others with only the top two with nuts to mount the grills.

Does anyone know if these were year specific or ???????

For one thing a 1970 isn't interchangeable in the sense the 1971/72 hood. They moved the position.Now 1971 and 1972 basically the same.JMO

Not talking about the core support as a whole. The portion that is "bolted" to the core support that has the latch assm. and the mounting surface for the grills. There seams to be more than one style/part for 70-72 I have seen two styles on a few 70's for example. I actually have two 70's in the shop now and both are different from each other. I also have a 72 that has the same as one of the 70's.
