An Old Olds fact-tell Robski Im wrong!
In 1967, a 67 Delmont was available with a 425, and is the only Olds ever that wore a badge on the front fenders telling the world you had a 425( or any engine size) Only in 68 a few Cutlass "Ram Rods" had a decal-strip accross the hood and the fenders indicading a "Ram Rod 350" was present. I found some 425 badges years ago from a Club member here and they are on my 64 F-85 Pro-touring car still under final stages on construction. If you would like a picture let me know.

Rob, that's partially true. The 425 engine wasn't, strictly speaking, an option on the Delmont 88. The Delmont 88 425 was actually a separate model series from the Delmont 88 (which was 330-powered). That, folks, is the real reason for the little "425" emblem directly under the Delmont 88 fender scripts. While it did accurately tell the engine size, it was there to indicate a distinct 88 model series.
In '67, Olds renamed some of the 88 models and reorganized the series designations for the 88's:
35200-series was Delmont 88, which replaced Jetstar 88, and so had the 330 V8 only
35400 was Delta 88 Custom, which replaced Starfire
35600 was Delmont 88 425, which replaced Dynamic 88
35800 carried over from '66 as Delta 88
In '67, Olds renamed some of the 88 models and reorganized the series designations for the 88's:

Copper128 thats some detailed info there! When I get back in town I will post pictures of my 64 F-85 425. Joe there was no question just making a statement about engine badges on Oldsmobiles and wanted to know if was wrong, thats it.

Took a bit to get back to this. Pictures of the Delmont 425 emblems on my 64 F85-425 Pro-touring build. 1969W3155 the stripe was painted on with more detail than the 65 only offering a dealer add on vinyl stripe. I got the dimensions from 442Bro's website.

I thought maybe that it was my monitor or color blindness that made me think that it was copper, rather than the 400 bronze. You will fool many non Olds folks with the badging, as it looks like it belongs there.

1969W3155, here is a picture of the engine bay all finished I took earlier today.. I have a 30 over 65 425 Starfire block and un-turned crank, Mondello rods, custom made Arias pistons, plus a bunch of other goodies. I want to see how much more $$$$ its going to take to get the car in the street. I have darn near "college education" invested in this project. It's definitely a "one of" you wont see another one at any car show period.

Delta 88 Custom, like all other full-size Olds that year (except Delmont 88) had 425 engine as standard equipment. Remember, the base Delmont 88 replaced the Jetstar 88, so it had the 330 only. All the other big cars got 425's in one tune or another, from 2-bbl low compression to Starfire 4-bbl high comp. with dual exhaust.

Don't forget to beef up the trans. I priced a set of .040 over Arias flat tops for my '69 a couple of years ago, as no one makes them...not cheap, about 2 1/2 times the cost of std. bore or .030 over pistons.

1969W3155, actually the whole build was to support 550 plus HP. The trans is a new, highly modified 200-4R with a Moser 9 inch on a complete Hotchkis suspension and other related components. If the 400E runs good ( 5k miles since the rebuild) with the nice AC. I may sell my 425 parts and not mess with it.
