Right on the VA/NC border and was a founding member of the original Mid Atlantic Olds Club that covered southern Virginia and the Carolinas, which is unfortunately now dormant. Distances and personal crises took a toll on the MAOC members.

I've seen in JWO that people have approached Jerry Wilson about forming an NC group. Since I still have the Mid Atlantic OCA chapter charter in my possession, maybe he ought to check with the people who were there earlier?

But yeah, I'd be game for meeting some NC folks. I might be on a Ford truck or a Grand Marquis, but the garage is still full of Oldsmobiles (see sig line )

You stationed at LeJeune or just a downeaster?

That's a lot of why Mid Atlantic kinda died out. We had folks from Asheville to Edenton, Roxboro to Rockingham and everywhere in between plus a few in southern VA and South Carolina. There were some people driving 4 hours to a club meeting- I was driving an hour or two to most of them myself. A lot of them used the meeting as an excuse to run the car. Plus there was a Union 76 station with high-octane pumps on my way...

Chris, if we get something started back in NC feel free to drive down for a weekend. I miss those Olds get-togethers and Zone shows we did. I just know that I no longer have time to devote to starting things back up.

I'm in Mocksville NC.

I'm sure there are many reasons why the MAOC fell apart. I've heard many different stories and opinions of who or what's to blame. Anyway, i do know there is one person who puts out quite a bit of effort to get people to show up to the largest automotive event in the southeast held twice a year at no cost to them. All they have to do is commit to show up with their Olds.
