Driving 442 again after 4 yrs in storage
Guys, after 4 years in storage while I was overseas, I am again driving my 1972 442 convertible with the 455. It is good to drive it again, and I have a chance to find out all the little things that are wrong with it.
What are some things to lookout for? I've heard ethanol gas is bad and I should run ethanol free gas. I have changed the oil, flushed and refilled the radiator, fresh tank of gas, and a new fuel pump after the old one decided to leak in my garage.
There is prolly a few more "gotchas" I should look out for too.

Welcome back! Just fill it with the highest octane you can find, let it idle a bit and look for leaks front to back. If everything checks out, be gentle for a a few miles, and then drive it like ya stole it.

I haven't had any problems with the ethanol premium as long a I burn right through it. If it gets old is when it is a problem. After 30 days the fuel starts to separate and is not good. In my area I can now get 91 octane ethanol free premium so That is all I burn now. My snowmobiles really don't like the ethanol either with them having 2 stroke motors. The Fast Trac convenience store in NY sells the non ethanol gas.
