Forgot to post pics of the top. Picked it up last week and the quality is night and day. Needed to install new rain gutter, the old one was duct taped because it was completely broken on the right side. Explains why the trunk looks like Alpine Lace. Glad I bit the bullet and got it done, it's been raining almost every day here. Anyone have plans for an Arc?
Took her out for a ride with my wife and daughter to Lauremier Sculpture park in St. Louis, about a 70 mile round trip and it performed flawlessly. I love to hear my new duals sing on the highway at 75 mph.
Well it was actually yesterday. I reinstalled the rebuilt harmonic balance and reinstalled the water pump. I had taken the water pump out to check while I had the car apart since it tends to run warm. I took the electric fan out of the shroud it came with and then installed a 15" 6 blade fan with the spacer that came on the car. This fan has 33 degree pitch and should move more air than the electric fan that came with the shroud. I spent most of the day on my feet leaned over the front of the car and my 70 year old back is hurting this morning. I have some new door sill plates to install today and clean the car up a little.

Being I live in WI, today was the day I awakened Saved 62 from her winter nap. Fired right up I am proud to say.
Cleaned her up a bit and tomorrow, hopefully, it is off to a car show!
Followup Report: Bright & Early Sat morn went to the car barn and fired up the Olds to head on out the the show. Engine started with no problem, but ran more than rough. Would take gas, but clearly a more than serious miss. Finally the engine just died and while it would subsequently crank, it would not fire.
Determined problem to be ignition as opposed to air or fuel. Removed coil wire from car and tested it for continuity. It had no continuity. Replaced it and car runs like a top.
I have to say, in my 3 score + 11 years I have never, ever seen an open in a coil wire. Just "shows to go you" that one is never to old to learn.
Today, while in the engine bay, I replaced the six hood alignment/anti-rattle pads. The judges at the 2015 OCA Nats commented negatively about them.
I chased my a$$ with the neg coil wire being the culprit for hours on a friends truck last year. It was broken inside the insulation. I also chased my a$$ on a model A truck we restored with a bad new condenser.

This was the main/primary coil wire that runs from the coil tower to the distributor cap. Also, it has a solid copper wire core. I have saved it, but not tore into it yet to see if the open is in the wire core or at the attached ends.
Wiped the entire underside and fender wells down today
from driving it to a show in Norwich, N.Y. It drizzled all day long! I spent Sunday scrubbing the topside! Never trust the weatherman!
I put my front fenders on this last weekend, doors several weeks ago, A/C is all connected and holds a vacuum. Put in my IP about a month ago, i used Audimute and Fatmat on my floors. Putting on some of the Blingy stuff. Gettin excited there is light at the end of the tunnel... i think.
I also cracked my original dash pad right down the middle, it had two small half inch cracks one at each end, but i found a perfect original one on Ebay that same night and bought it. It will soon run again with gas from its own tank, which has been installed for a while, i just didnt want to put gas in it until i have all the electrical to start it with its own key that will happen soon. Been sanding and buffing doors and front fenders, last will be the hood. Then need to install glass, upholster the seats and install, headliner and probably alot im not thinking of now. Im ready to be done with it and drive it!
Rebuilt the master cylinder with a kit from Fusick. Most of the parts fit but had to use the original plunger and piston on the 58. Now I got brakes with no leaks.
When completed the darn thing would not idle. Running very lean so contemplated pulling the master again to look for a vacuum leak. But pulling the vacuum line and plugging it made no difference. So I pulled the carb instead, much easier. Both idle venture tubes were plugged. Lots of gold colored glitter in the bowls. Cleaned it all out now back to running smooth. Where did the glitter come from? I am not sure but there are strange looking burrowing marks in the bowl casting.
Removed cleaned and reinstalled both ventilation controls, both were frozen, sure am glad I do not have A/C.
Now dealing with vacuum wiper motor.

Car had been hit in r/r lamp in the past and was replaced with a salvaged one. Chrome was pitted and lens cracked. I got a nicer used one on Ebay.
If you have never taken on of these fully apart you can't appreciate the level of over complication for a simple lamp.
Took the 58 out for its first tank of gas in almost 20 years. Running good. Still no reverse, I guess that is next on the agenda. Rebuilt the RR electric window assembly. Now they all go up and down.
Chasing down a hot start problem.
Removed starter, checked all the leads and contact points.
Wrapped it with some heat tape.
Found a burn on the cable right before the starter so cut it back and made a new connector.
Installed a new two channel dash speaker and an Antique auto radio. Wait for it........it works but no sound besides a small pop when turned on. Try again later.
Finally sorted out my turn signal not cancelling on right turns and installed my LONG awaited NOS steering wheel ! I replaced the return springs on the turn signal switch with a set from a spare parts column and now it's working perfectly again.

Picked up an NOS #9433752 alternator belt for my 66 Cutlass vert. A backup to the current belt being used. Original package. Letting it stretch out very easily.

Checked the water and the oil on my '87 Cutlass and drove to the dentist on surface streets. Just had the quadrajet rejetted and it runs great. Took the turnpike back home; hit 100 for fun. (Its not a 307 any more).

While at the "Homecoming" in Lansing I bought a new set of tailpipe hangers for my 66 vert to replace the current hangers that give an uneven look. Homecoming was fun but I believe attendance was hindered by rain potential. The weather this spring sucks.

Our small town's annual car show looks like a bust this morning with rain instead of the partly cloudy forecast. There will be a few diehards who chase trophies but my 47 is staying dry in my shop. All polished up and nowhere to go. Drat.

I fixed my brake lights and interior lights. The dumbazz that replaced the wiring harness before I owned the car had hooked the brake lights and interior lights which are on the same circuit to the clock fuse on the fuse block and the clock on the brake light fuse. The clock has a small fuse and I am surprised it lasted as long as it did. One wire is red and the other is orange. I scratched my head on this one and actually discovered it by accident. Now my turn signals don't work but that is for another day. It is hard on an overweight 70 year old to get his head up under the dash. My USAF experience is very helpful in tracing this stuff down but I hate getting under the dash.
