Picked up the newly rechromed bumpers for the '54. They are gorgeous! Since I could really use a vacation, I'll head out in the near future to transport the bumpers to my dad (AM99888) in Texas. I can help him install them and maybe there'll be a show or two we can attend while I'm there. Oh, the Rocket's gonna look so nice!

Torch and a hammer I cut out the lower section on a front four door from a 64 scrapped and sand blasted he did this with out me there but from what I gathered he screwed it to the old piece and heated it up and just tapped it tell he liked it then separated and cut out the old

I am trying to get him to make some extra but he has no interest

thanks I had heard that if u can get a piece of metal from same era car it will match up better cause the guage metal will be the same. instead of buying sheet metal.
I know a junk yard that had a 64 vert (it was at leat 8 years ago)and this guy usually never gets rid of anything. I was thinking if he can cut some sheet metal out for me. also I remember a 66 hardtop that I got ac delco comp and the power steering box and pump out of . I have to call thanks for the info

Spent yesterday at a local car show. Best part of living here is that while most people that live elsewhere are putting their cars away, we're out and about enjoying our rides. Here's a few pics from the show.

I installed a new Sunpro tach in my 65 cutlass 4 speed. Right now the speedo does not work,so I am relying on the tach.

Water pump install

Old Rosie the 67 330 finally killed the water pump. Wasn't so bad and a fairly easy install. After reassembly I heard a small clunk as the engine would run. The center pulley & lower pulley hit slightly at one point. Balancer is not spinning true. Now my quest to get a balancer & put it on. Glad to be back in its been a while. Thanx, Ace

This weekend was the end of the 2013 driving season for the Cutlass, it's been a great one! I finally got her on the road again, got the transmission passing gear cable sorted out, got the stainless Porter mufflers on it with a new stainless exhaust, and got to put it on display at the Porter / Ravenworks booth at the Car Craft Nationals! The boys put about 5k miles on it, it went to homecoming, it went to the hills of northern Minnesota, and it did a few car shows too. You guys here have been a tremendous help for this Olds newb, it is sooo appreciated!
Now the Cutlass gets to slumber the winter away, all covered-up in it's heated garage.
This winter it will be sharing that garage with the new project, a 1970 Firebird that will be converted into a Pro-Touring car!

Looks like it should be snowing there about now, Murco. It's always a sad time of year for Minnesota car enthusiasts. In one of your previous posts, I think you mentioned needing some dents worked out of some mouldings. A fellow in Buffalo, MN, did ours and they look great. He's reasonably priced, too. I'd be happy to send you contact info if you want it.

What? Sorry, Oldstata, this took me a moment. I think I got it now. "Finished up the left quarter yesterday. Just need to DA and block, then prime."

Loaded my MHT Throttle wheels (Craig's list $150 set of 4), and new Goodyear Eagle F1's (from e-bay $460 for the set of 4) and delivered all to my local Goodyear store for mount and balance process. Tires are 225/55 16 and are close enough to the OEM diameter. I think they'll look great and I'm pleased with the end cost, it fits nicely into my budget for the 69 Cutlass. All in all a good day. - Steven

Its been a while since I contributed to this thread but in the last two weeks I did a lot of little things. I added a stock style fan clutch , fan and pulleys, along with the shroud. That improved crusing temps specially at idle a lot! Then this week I did new hard line trans lines , then I did new fuel lines from the pump to the carb along with swapping from ac style alternator to non ac style and a shiny chrome one lol.

In this pick you can see the new fan set up and my old fuel lines and no alt. on the pass side.

In this one you can see the updates. Im loving the new look what a few things can do to make your engine bay look a lot better lol.

Today was a bittersweet and somewhat sad day for me. I parked my '67 Delta 88 Custom in a buddy's barn for the winter. I won't see it until April.

Hey coppercutlass: Nice looking engine!

jaybird I feel your pain. Last year I did the same because I had a 77 cutlass where mine should have been but that car is long gone and the 72 is home for the holidays lol. Thanks on the compliments on the engine. Too much chrome imo but it is nice on the eyes.

Massive work done today...
- managed to take out the distributor (what a pita)
- installed the intake manifold, rocker arms and valve covers
- took out the fuel tank, emptied

I feel like this was an awesome Saturday! Getting the car on the road is getting so close!

I just looked at it covered in the garage as I sat on my couch, drank some beer and watched the Giants barely win! Got a new 46 inch RCA tv for the garage. Time to get my sleds ready, cars are put to bed for winter.
