1977 98 Regency specification.

Was the '77 Regency offered without air conditioning?, There is one for sale on ebay UK and the interior pics show just heater controls.
I don't know how to put up a link but if you go to ebay Uk and look up Oldsmobile in cars motorcycles and vehicles you can see the car I mean. If it is correct and as described I might be treating myself!.

Roger.

Roger, absolutely Oldsmobiles of that era could be bought without AC although most of them seemed to be 'standard equipment'. By the late 70's and early 80's the car markets started getting more demanding in terms of what luxury cars should have as standard equipment. Have to admit it does look out of place with just the heater control when I'm used to looking at the AC display. The car appears to be in exceptionally nice condition. Decent price too.

In a lot of hot humid climes the dealers would make it part of a standard package they'd order if they wanted to sell any cars. Most of the 'Heater Only' cars were the intermediate or compacts.

In Canada there were LOTS of Oldsmobiles sold without AC.

Here's the link to your 1977 Oldsmobile 98 - UK ebay Funny - in the description they list it as a 'Custom Cruiser'.

Never having been a big fan of fender skirts ...

I really like the 77-79 98's.

That color combo IMHO ... is one of the best for that era as well.

If you don't mind the lack of a/c ... hope you can ****** it up.

Looks to be in really nice shape.

And it's not a Regency either. It's a Luxury Sedan.

It's one of my favorite colors of the era, too. Nice looking Olds!

I'm kind of wondering if this might be a special order car. I can understand the AC delete, but I also noticed that the car has tinted glass all around, and there's no rear defog on glass. Usually the lack of a rear defogger would indicate the car originally came from a warm climate, along with the tinted glass. Why it has no AC is a mystery.

Roger, are you planning to contact the seller and ask if there's any information about the 'heater' vs 'AC' available? I think you should treat yourself, especially since there's no import fees or taxes!

Wonder why all these 'reserve' auctions start off with a bonehead low-ball number. IMO it just gives false hope to those who are bidding. So far there's only 5 interested bidders. I would expect a car like this to go for at least £5,000 to £6,000. Roger is that within your acceptable range?
