Eric, Maybe give Thornton's or Fibreconcepts a shout and ask them? I have no idea how to package a part this big. Good question about how GM did it. If their other parts are any indication it was prolly shoved into a big box with some stiffeners in it to hold in place?

I think you will have to build a crate. Better get out the old skill saw.

X2 Building a crate with styrofoam blocks all around (front, back, top and bottom) to prevent damage and having it freighted would be about the only way to ship it as USPS and UPS doesn't ship anything that large. FED EX may but it probably would cost more than say a trucking company that is "going that way" Your probably looking at over $300 for the ride plus materials needed to crate it

Try Old Dominion Freight Line. They shipped my hood and I was very happy. The hood came in a oversize box with foam covering all four end of the hood and bubble wrap around the top and bottom. I do not know how to post pics here. Hope this helps

Talking with a buddy in my shop he said a good way is "hitch hike" it with a freight truck. Might take longer to get it to the location but it would be cheaper since it would be a filler piece instead of a making room piece if that makes sense. .
