'62 black / yellow wire

Looking at the wiring diagram for the '62 and can't figure out what the yellow w. black tracer wire is coming out of the dash....

Any ideas?

I still haven't figured out if your talking about a Starfire, 88, F-85. And the dash - do you mean the cluster where the speedometer is? Being slightly more specific would help

Coming out which way, into the engine compartment or passenger compartment? A picture might be helpful here.

If it's into the passenger compartment, maybe the backup light/neutral safety switch?

Here's a link to a wiring diagram that might be helpful:

The only yellow with a black tracer in my manual ( but its a '61 full size) would be the left hand turn indicator lamp that goes into the turn signal switch.

here's another link that might help... I found a blk/yellow and it leads to a neutral safety switch I believe...

'kay, thought I hit 'post' but 5 mins later it's not showing up...

Anyway. Thanks for the link. Great diagram - different drawing than the one in the 62 manual. Will be printing that sucker out.

Looks like it goes to the NSS as you say. Not sure what it does, but hopefully it doesn't activate the ejector seat option.

Thanks again
