As I noted on the AACA website, this is the 1983 printing. It's pretty useless for anyone looking for 64-72 parts. As an example, the only BBO heads listed are J and K heads. Everything else had been superseded by the time of the printing and thus dropped from this version. Unfortunately, I had to pay for a copy before I found this out.

The lesson here is to find a printing date close to the year you care about.

The link to this Parts Manual site here is no longer available, but The Olds Performance Club and Wild About Cars has a 1979 version of the Parts Manual Available for download.

The Olds Performance Club and Wild About Cars also has Assmbly Manuals and Inspector's guides available from 1965-1970; Chassis Service Manuals from 1964-1972; and a good deal more - including super clean copies of Brochures, Advertisements, and even Car Magazines from 1954 - 1984.

All are availabe for FREE download with the understanding that the images are used for your personal reference only (which is legit under copyright law). If you copy and resell or redistribute these pages you are subject to lawsuit by GM.

I would also like to mention that since Bob's Nov 2010 post, Wild About Cars now has the 1972 edition of the Part & Accessories catalog posted. This contains lots more of earlier parts missing from later editions.

Course you can say this isn't free either and miss out on this too......

I presume you're talking about the link in the original thread? Yes, is does not work any longer. That was posted in 2007. That's one of the problems with Olds info that is spread all over. I comes and goes. That is one of the reasons we now have the AHPS Library at Wild About Cars. One place for all of the information and it will be there tomorrow. Sign up, it's free! I seems there is a minimum membership fee of $9.95/yr for this service now. Which seems reasonable still, except for the fact that the site would not accept my PayPal payment. Stated that "You've already payed this transaction" or some such...

Yes, they just started charging.

Still cheaper and faster than most alternatives, but if you can wait for the mailman, you can get some years just as cheap (I think the '73 CSM I bought was $8 shipped).

Having the two original manuals for my 1965 F-85 Cutlass stolen along with my original hubcaps by the car carrier was a lesson learned.

Don't trust anyone with car parts, manuals etc. when shipping.

This is somewhat related , as I read the FREE manuals offerred on the link provided.

Just my two cents.

I have a 72 disc used by the GM repair guys for all cars/F85/Cutlass/ & Toronado. It lists every part from body, trim, engines, rears , trannys, down to the nut & bolt. Plus illustrations for everything. Can't be to hard to post if anyone needs it. Even if I had to take pictures of it off my laptop. It's a pretty small file in today's computer world. But still pretty detailed. I'm sure most of the drivetrain parts are the same number for multiple years. Let me know if it's something anyone wants & will try and post it. If I'm aloud too.

Sounds like the '72 Parts Manual.

You can download it from WildAboutCars, along with the CSM, FBM, and AM, and whatever other year manuals you wish, for a $10 "library card" fee.

If you download the disc to your hard drive, it will preserve the information better and allow faster access by the PC.

Just as an update. They are now up to $25 to access the library. Probably worth it, but if I paid for all the clubs that I get and give information to on the internet, I wouldn't be able to afford the cars that I want to read up about :-)...

Yeah, but what's also interesting is this statement of "Free to join" still riding on their website, which is not exactly accurate, is it? Clicking the link takes you directly to the 'pay the man' section of AHPS. Not surprising that they've decided to hike their fees. Watch for another increase next year and the year after......gotta pay for that site somehow I guess.

Yeah. I would have paid $10 for my library card, but $25 is quite a hike. In just a few months. I'm sure they have a lot of info on there, but I don't even have the time to look at all that info with 3 brands and types of cars that I own...

I took the sticky status off this thread as the pdf is no longer available. The AHP site is probably worth the $25 to those that are interested and like all the info in one place. I have Motors Manuals for most of the cars I work on. If I need additional info I just search the net.

I did something really smart for a change ... A few months back I downloaded to my laptop hard drive the ASMs for '69-'72, just before WAC went Pay per View. I didn't know at the time they were gonna start charging for access, but I figured something this cool wouldn't stay free forever. I did the same with the Olds parts books for '63-'72 and '66-'79 and the Parts Illustrations book for '66-'75. Now I can print off only the pages I need to work on the car and I don't worry about getting the manual all greasy.
