rebuild or not to rebuild?

the 215 in the jetfire i just got has several oil leaks. it runs good but the turbo don't work. i am planning to get the entire turbo/carb system rebuilt and plan to reseal the engine at the same time. while it is apart do i rebuild it or just stick to resealing it? i called D&D that specializes in 215 and the parts to rebuild it are really not that expensive. with the turbo $2500+ to rebuild is $800 more worth rebuilding the engine while resealing it. i want to say i should, also with it being 50 years old. i am sure it was never apart because it still has the copper head gaskets in it. D&D said to just check the bearing clearance and if ok just put it back together.

lucky for me, the 62 don't have a frame but yes, i would clean the engine bay up also. the more i thought about it i will do it all at the same time. i can't till i catch up on things because i am broke from getting the car. i have retired from off road racing and riding so i am trying to sell my race quad. if it sells i will start on this project right away and be ready for spring. if it don't sell i will drive the car this year and rebuild it next winter.

Fantastic work!! The parts look absolutely brand new, and you'll be much happier opening the hood to show everyone after all your time cleaning.

Keep up the great work
