I believe you are correct! It looks like they are arriving from Fisher body on Verlinden st. All bodies were trucked in until the final days of plant 1 or LCA at the end. Now most of the parking lots are now the new Grand River asy.

Though commonplace now the Triffler being from different car companies on the same lot! Not GM to GM make!

Pat do you know anything about Triffler Oldsmobile? I'm from south of Blue Island and I've never heard of them. I left IL in 97. A late edition maybe?

I'm from just north of Blue Island. I left in '86 so this is a bit of a stretch on my memory. When I was a kid we used to go to a dealer around there called Steele Hopf Oldsmobile. I think it was around 127th and Western. Does that name ring a bell?

Yes, there was a dealership by that name. There was also Hollingshead Olds on S. Western. Dad bought the 66 Starfire from there. They opened up the glass doors, and rolled it out, down the concrete ramps. As a kid I wondered how they got the cars in there

Yes I've heard of Steele Hopf. I haven't heard of Hollingshead. Does anyone remember RL Duke Oldsmobile? I passed it every day on the way to work on the Dan Ryan, not sure exactly where.

I think southbound on Logan back in the day? What confused heck out of me was that currently that it's now Martin Luther king blvd southbound is it's own four lane just west of the northbound which is about in the right spot for that photo and also would put the smoke stacks on the left hand side?

I am still questioning this! But two other gents that are roughly 10-15 older than I, are confirming this spot?
