Long lost Olds pictures

What a cool video! Too bad there's no audio because there's probably some good narration of the city and Oldsmobile. So cool to see all the classic Olds' just driving around on a regular day back then..and the Toro's without front clips headed for final assembly (I'm imagining, right?).

I'm from just north of Blue Island. I left in '86 so this is a bit of a stretch on my memory. When I was a kid we used to go to a dealer around there called Steele Hopf Oldsmobile. I think it was around 127th and Western. Does that name ring a bell?

Yes, there was a dealership by that name. There was also Hollingshead Olds on S. Western. Dad bought the 66 Starfire from there. They opened up the glass doors, and rolled it out, down the concrete ramps. As a kid I wondered how they got the cars in there

Yes I've heard of Steele Hopf. I haven't heard of Hollingshead. Does anyone remember RL Duke Oldsmobile? I passed it every day on the way to work on the Dan Ryan, not sure exactly where.

I am still questioning this! But two other gents that are roughly 10-15 older than I, are confirming this spot?
