Long lost Olds pictures

I have to resort to collecting this stuff because the misses has limited me to 2 cars.
Also, what is the "west wing"? The Ivory towers parallel each other north to south.
New picture would be looking east from the southwest side of the plant, and the administration building is circled.

Seeing that pix of Story Olds brought back way to many memories. Spent a lot of time down at that dealship when I was assigned to Product Reliability Dept. checking on product and warranty problems. Also that pix of Labadie Olds is where I picked up the last 70' F-85 W-31 auto. made. The only 70 F-85 W-31 built with the Buckskin interior code, chocolate dash, vnyle flooring, rear package shelf, and the rest in Buckskin (kind of a cream color). It was my "Brass Hat car" (factory car) that I drove 3,000 miles in two weeks! Turned it back in for my next Brass Hat Car and bought it on the spot. It listed for $4300 ( I ordered a lot options on it), as an exc. employee I only paid $2900! To bad it is in Olds heaven. Got totaled out in a towing accident in 1975, on the way to an NHRA National event while towing my factory built Smothers Bros. Drag Team car, a 68' F-85 Ram Rod.
I got to know Mr. Story pretty well. He heard I was leaving Olds in 1973 and that I wanted to move to Florida. Called me and offered me the Service Mangers job at an Olds dealership that he just purchased in Daytona Beach, FL. Paid all my expenses, gave me a new 73' 98 LS to drive, and even had a trailer hitch installed on it so I could pull a U-Haul trailer with all my stuff! The wife drove my 70' F-85 pulling my 68' F-85 race car on a trailer. Talk about Beverly Hillbillies!

That is a pricey billboard. Would that be two buildings behind the screening or just scaffolding?

I'll beg to differ on the ugly part, yes over priced no doubt, but you will get more ponies with the caddy version of any engine and interior upgrades across the board. I have driven the ATS, CTS and XTS all top notch cars.
I am Olds guy through and through, my dad worked for Olds and many of my friends or friends dads worked for Olds and I hate to see anything like what is pictured above. I'm afraid we have to move on.

Brand loyalty is nothing more than an ad campaign. They're all just cars, why can't you like more than one brand? The worst part is when people start preaching gospel about why their preferred brand is best; half-truths and "my old man always" and self-rationalization abound.
I like them all. I also know that the "X crowd is always this" judgments are not good either (like Chevelle guys are all dumb rednecks). There are jerks in every group.
