xombie, those cars look amazing. Must be a couple hundred from looking at your album. Love that 32 deuce recreation of John Milners from American Graffitt. Looks like everything from the 30s to 2010 was there. Even though I'm partial to Olds, some of those old Mercs, Stangs, Chebbies and imports really are stunning!

It seems that all of them appear to have 'driver' plates? Does ONT have antique plates? I switched mine over this year because it's a one time licensing fee and costs about 1/4 of a yearly driver registration. Plus in AB, you can dual register your license plates. I have the car registered with an 'antique' plate, and the 1972 blue/white license plate when it was new. Police who stop me for wearing the 72 plate are only concerned that I carry both plates with the vehicle. One stays in the trunk, one goes on the back.

Ontario does have antique (called Historic here) plates. But there are conditions linked to them like the car is supposed to be more or less stock. In Ontario, you can either get a historic plate or a Year-of-Manufacture plate, but only one plate (a pair of plates) can be assigned to a car. For the YOM plates, you have to send them in to get them authenticated for about $250 before you can use them.

The 72 plate I have falls under YOM rules in AB. Didn't cost me a dime to double register it, I just showed the plate to the DMV registry and they accepted it. The 'antique plate for my 72 shows 'fleet' in one corner and 'anitique vehicle' in the top right. IIRC it cost around 35 bucks and now it's in effect continuously until I change provincies.

My car should be faster than a speeding bullet, because it's AB antique license is M 16

Here in Ohio, we can have year-of-manufacture plates, as long as they're Ohio license plates, at no extra cost. You only need one even though Ohio is still a front-and-back license plate state.

You actually still have to get historic vehicle plates, which cost $30 one time, and then keep those in the car (I keep mine in my glove box). You have to be able to produce them should they ever be needed.
