Anyone with a 1965-1968 with seat switch on the seat bottom!
Trying to find out how the seat switch looks on a 1965-1968 Olds.
I have the electric seat ready to go into my car but need switch mounting information.......
Any help is VERY welcomed.

BTW, I looked on another seat bottom that did not originally come with the power seat option and the bracket is not there. You'll probably have to fabricate something out of about 14 gage metal to hold the switch.

Don, I just went out to the shed to look at the seat bottom for a power seat I'm installing in my 72. (It's a 4 way switch and probably the same for your car. Anyway, the seat has it's original cover and switch on it, so I undid the 2 mounting screws and took the switch out. There's a metal escutcheon built into the seat where the power switch gets hooked up. Looks like if you're converting from non power to power seats, you'll have to built a metal bracket that will attach to the seat bottom frame. If you need pics, I can probably dig the seat out of the shed and get some.

Don,
I think it doesn't matter whether it's 4 way or 6 way, the switch will probably still need a mounting bracket on the side of the seat.
6 way is a much nicer option than 4 way. One thing I have found about power seats; they tend to be self limiting. Once you find the position you want, you never have to touch them again. My old 98 had the 2 position memory seat option that also adjusted the drivers left side mirror. That was really nice for when my wife occasionally had to use the car. Push one button and the seat/mirrors line right up to your driving position. Too bad that wasn't an option back in the day.
I know that this isn't the one you have, but maybe the mounting is similar? It appears to bolt into the track assembly somehow. But it still looks like it needs a metal backing plate to secure the faceplate.

I think it is too thick to fit the space between the cover and the seat mechanism.
Thanks for your input.

i'm going to bump this thread before i go posting a new thread.. i have a 67 ninety eight that has the six way electric seats, i'll take pics when the sun is up tomorrow. anyway im in some MUCH needed help. the motor under the drivers side on the bench, (towards the front of the seat) has literally fallen apart. gears screws bushings bearings and grease everywhere. the seat still moves front and back, the other motors seem to be fine, but since that one came apart it turned my bench into a rocking chair. im hoping you guys can point me in the direction of a new motor, and let me know if you need specific pics of parts or what i need to be looking for to find/order a new electric seat motor.. thanks!

The part that you call a seat motor is actually called a gearnut. The motor "drives" the various gearnuts to do the Up, Down and back and forth. The 6-way seat has 3 gearnuts on each side of the bench seat.
The seat switch you show is exactly the part I've been looking for for a year and a half. Do you mind if I use your photo to do a new post for a similar switch?
I've been trying to adapt a power seat to my car and have collected some parts to do it.

The up and down "paddles" on the ends of the switch causes the seat to tilt changing the angle of the seat-back. Works great!!
Thanks for the use of your picture.

That's exactly what I was trying to describe in words. BTW, it looks like the bracket is attached with metal screws; likely the holes are in all seat frames but the switch plate for power seat is attached during the build? Didn't realize it has 2 functions: mount the switch, and route the wiring. Is there another piece that's used to secure the seat switch? I'm not seeing where the switch screws would fasten.
