Hello everyone out there, i have a 1973 cutlass w/ a 350 rocket and i would like to switch from points to a distributor does anyone have a distributor for sale some people say i need the whole thing and others say its just the top half? Thanks for yalls help

You can convert your points distributor to electronic using a pertronix ignition system, or you can put a HEI distributor in your car. With the HEI you would need to run a 12 volt wire to the distributor.

Or, you could find a stock HEI distributor for you Olds. I believe Olds switched to HEI in 1973. I'm sure you could locate one in a local salvage yard or your favorite auto parts store.

switching to HEI will require replacing the entire distributor. HEI replacement parts are plentiful and inexpensive. it requires only one 12 volt wire. but you will have to switch plug wires
