Smile Lady and Gentlemen...My Vista Cruiser

Took a few quick pics, here she is for now.
The car isn't perfect but it's mine, all mine, all that counts to me.

You may have to give up your front license plate to me by law now Sandy.
I don't know though? TPO is looking pretty good now since I painted the engine, as the blind man said "We'll see".

Mirror mirror on the door The Prettiest One name may be Sandy's no more.

Thanks guys. I really want a front plate with a flower on it.
I may pull the bracket and run no front plate for the clean look.

No third seat unfortunately, a lot rarer though, the value difference will buy you a cup of coffee anywhere. That may not apply with some of the coffee places around now though?

The roof spoiler was an option. The car didn't have one originally but there were two of them in the parts that came with car. I don't know how much good it does but it has a very high cool factor so I had to put it on.

Is that the stock color combo ? How does it drive with all the upgrades you did on the suspension and brake's?

Job well done Allan. I really like the color combo. Are you planning to upgrade the wheels to Super Stock or Torquethrust? That would make your cruiser absolutely beyond reach!

BTW, like I tell my wife when she asks, "who's that supposed to make happy?", the only right answer you already nailed: ME. Some day I hope we can meet somewhere and compare cars in person. Just don't let Redgoat drive, you know how distracted he gets from the flying monkeys.....

The color is original, the suspension parts have all been replaced, rubber bushings. The car drives and rides great, floats down the road like the boat it is.

Here one just like it getting ready to go for lobster, notice the lack of gaps in areas.

As Ricky Nelson sang, "You can't please everyone so you got to please yourself".

I can have Redgoat ride shotgun in the back and keep track of the monkeys overhead through the Vista window.
Would be cool to have a Classic Olds convention and let these cars meet each other in person someday.

The wheels are staying for now, in the future I may go with 20" Pimpstars with videos of the car cruising and 1971 Olds TV commercials playing on them.

When I was a pup my mom's Cheby wagon had one on it. As best I recall it did help keep the rear window clean. My Vista's the rear window get dirty pretty fast. Have you expereienced that yet Blue?

If ya want to sell one of your extra Please PM me. I think they're cool and functional.

Thanks again for the compliments.

Whatever you need to know Erik. If you like it the woodgrain is Sharpline Converting's Cherry Oak printed on 3M cast vinyl then they spray some sort of a clear over it. I could of used cheap shelfliner stuff but I don't swing that way.

Uh-Oh...., when those southern types call you sir it ain't a term of respect or endearment.

"The Gorgeousest One"?

Maybe a musical reference name?

She wore Blue....Vista.
Blue on Blue, Vista on Vista.
Bell Bottom Blues Vista.
Mr. Blue Sky Vista.
Behind Blue Vista T3 Headlight Bulb Eyes?

I'll be at Solon for BOP & C night on the first Sandy, I'll save you a spot if you want. I know it's a longshot but if I could take the main award I would be eligible for cruiser of the year, what better car to be cruiser of the year?

You crack me up..... Sir!!!! I hope to be there also! Yep.... save me a spot please! I have to work till 5:00, so I can't get there much before 6:00. If anything changes - like I don't have a friggin car to bring - I'll let ya know.

You have an excellent chance for the main award.... how many of those cars do you see? Not many! Of course, with me parked beside you, I just don't know......

VERY nice looking, Blue! I am sure many are blue with envy...
I am quite astonished that you had the guts to drive it over that gravel driveway - I bet the undercarriage is full of white powder now.

Hopefully I can get a nice wagon when the Caddy dies. So versatile and practical!!
BTW, I can go for a wagon load of fresh Maine lobster about now! In fact I was in Maine at this time last year!!

Blue won't be driving it, he created a trailer queen, and will spend all his time admiring his great work and polishing the paint. He now needs a F-85 more door to drive around.

This guy knows me like the back of his hand.
I'll be driving it plenty, only car I got other than the GTO right now.
My drive doesn't have powder Rob, I vacuum it.
The rocks get stuck in the tires then fling out when you hit the road is the problem. Lousy pine tree pollen is everywhere too right now, puffs off them in clouds. The roof rack roof strips are the biggest PITA to clean around and under I've ever had on a car.
The only thing I'm worried about are stone chips on the rocker panels but they can be painted again, what shall be shall be.
I could also go with an 1/8th inch of Carnauba wax or.... mudflaps. If I could find some nice period ones maybe, have to have a full width Tennessee air brake in the rear. I actually was thinking about having Pam the vinyl lady come back over and do the clear 3M film down there.
