Got her out today!

It was 64 degrees here in Michigan today so I finally got the Cutlass out and went for a nice long cruise with the wife and daughter. What a great feeling after a long winter. However, they are calling for more snow in the forcast for Sunday and Monday.
Got to try out my new 12-1 AGR steering box too. What a difference. Drives like a newer car. One of the best moves I've made to date.

This was more cost than the jeep cherokee conversion, but it's a bolt on installation. Everything fit perfect. And the road feel on the steering wheel is very firm. Mutch like my 08 silverado. Oh, and I also replaced the old hoses while I was at it.

Thats funny I just walked in the house with the new summit catalog . Did you have to use metric hoses or sea ?

No, They are not metric. The original 72 hoses screwed right in. However, I had a small leak with the originals on both fittings. So, I ordered some new hoses from the Parts Place and they fit perfect. When the snow was on the ground, and I had lots of time to not be in a hurry.

I think it was just the double flare fittings being worn after mutiple on and off's.

I'll wait til mid April, this is Michigan, and as the forecast shows, more of that white crap is in the works. As my '71 is stored elsewhere, and paid until the end of April, I'll wait, and by then the salt should be gone.

I understand and feel your excitement. I got mine out too as it was about 60 here. Drove it about 50 miles and made sure that anyone within 100 feet heard my exhaust. After this long winter and 4" of rain over the last 4 days, it was great to get her out. I am getting ready to do the grand cherokee steering upgrade so I can't wait to do that either.

Yeah, I know it's still early, but it was sooo nice out that I couldn't take it any longer! Besides, all I had to do was check her out, pull out of my back garage, and GO! After the rain last week the roads are pretty clean in my area. Saw a couple of Mustangs, a Monte Carlo, and 1 Cuda out as well.
