I recently received some pictures of the 1911 Olds Autocrat that was owned by my great grandfather. I have read that there were three different versions of the car and that the Limited was equipped with the 707 cubic inch straight six. My question is whether there is any way to determine which one he owned? I believe I have to have a couple of posts here before I can post pictures. I will post the images as soon as I am able. I have no idea what became of he car...

1911 is definitely vintage! I've dreamed of recovering and restoring the 1971 Cutlass S my dad sold 30+ years ago but it's probably been crushed for many years.
This is my Great Grandfather's 1911 Olds probably in Wichita KS in 1911. The image was made into a post card. I am having some scanner issues but as soon as I resolve the problem I have one more image of the car, taken a bit later as the tread on the tires is pretty much gone.
This thread is awesome. Keep the pictures coming. There is no way your grandfather had any trouble with the ladies with a rig like that! No doubt a handful to own and operate.
Looks like the Limited Touring, pictured in The Standard Catalog of Oldsmobile, even sharing the stripes on the fenders and body. (part of the Autocrat series). Though it could be an Autocrat Touring. I saw a couple of Limited's and the "Yellow Peril" Autocrat at the National Antique Oldsmobile Club National in 2010. The Yellow Peril was also at the Gilmore Car Museum a few years ago. Those cars are something else. Contact the ReOlds Transportation Museum, and show them this pic. I bet that they can help. The N.A.O.C. should be a help as well considering that a few of their members own some of these cars.
Finally managed to get my scanner working. This picture is of the family possibly in Kansas or Oklahoma. The first picture was used as a post card and on the back it said the family had traveled from Cripple Creek Colorado to possibly Kansas in this car. I can only imagine what the roads were like back then. Notice the wear on the tires...
What an amazing artifact from your family's past! I love old photographs. The car is cool, but it's also the people. This photo suggests a little familiar daily drama occurring based on the stances and facial expressions of the two ladies in white and their focus towards the sullen boy on the running board. I suspect someone had been misbehaving and trying the patience of their elders. LOL!
