RePop Crap Strikes Again 72 CS
In my final stages of build and spent all week end putting in my dash...........by the way how in the H#LL did they do this on an assembly Line??????
Anyway got to putting in my speedo and low and behold the new speedo cable does not slide all the way down to the clip on the back of the gage. Stops about a 1/4" shy. This is a cable for cruise control and looked up how much I spent for it and $50.00 was not in the cards for me to forgo a OEM part and also pulling it out and installing another one. So after a night of sleeping on it I figured it out. I ended up splitting the barrel with my Dremel Tool and put a small hose clamp on it. Once it is in place it will be fine I pulled on it and it did not move.......Fixed It.
Sorry no pictures but those that know what the back of a speedo looks like and the cable will know what I did.

I did the same thing using a Speedo cable with a clip on end on a 56 Ford truck speedometer that was made for a threaded on end. ( I know definitely a different animal, but same type) It has worked great- sometimes cobble jobs work good!
