Question 67 Cutlass Question?

I was wondering if the parking lights on my 67 Cutlass are soposed to stay on when the headlights are on, or are they supposed to turn off when the headlight switch is pulled all the way out?
I'm thinking they should stay on , but just wanted confirmation from another owner. Thanks,

Joe

They only illuminate in the headlight switch parking light position, 1st click. They turn off when the headlight switch is pulled to the headlight position, all the way out.

Good to know... thank you Sir!
(one less electrical problem to solve) lol

Just picked up the old girl, and she has a few gremlins to work out but lots of potential. 67 Cutlass Supreme, 60K original miles, 330ci 4bbl, Power Glide. And so it begins.....

You don't have a "powerglide" unless someone transplanted it.

As stated above you have a Jetaway (ST300) transmission with a switch pitch (variable vane) torque convertor. There is a switch on your firewall carb linkage that controls it.

Well then, that is even better! I always thought the old Jetaway 2 speed was your basic Powerglide. (GM family) I knew the switch pitch was available on the TH400's but did not realize it was possible to get on the 2 spd auto's.
I will have to investigate this tomorrow. Something tells me this is not hooked up as I don't remember seeing the swich on the throttle linkage?

All automatic 67's had them, there should be a 3 wire switch as part of the linkage pivot.

Yep, sure enough! Just went out to the barn and confirmed. Big rotary switch on the linkage by the firewall.
So, out of curriocity, what is the "performance" stall speed on these converters?

If I remember correctly it was 1800 and 2300.
