82 olds parking brake cable install

Hi everyone. I have a 1982 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser Station Wagon. The parking brake cable from the pedal has seized. I bought a replacement. Does the left front fender have to come off in order to remove the cable?. The only thing holding me up is the rubber grommet that snaps into the sheet metal at the fire wall. Can't see it from the outside due to the fender being over top of it. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you remove the fender well? Removing it should give you easy access to the driver's side of the firewall.

Olds64: Thanks for the reply.....I started to remove the metal fender well but several fasteners are seized.....looks like the fender has to come off first before I can get the fender well out.

Well, you might consider using your favorite lubricant (PB Blaster, WD-40, Kroil penetrating oil) on the fasteners; as well as, the existing E brake cable. You might be able to free it and not need a replacement.
