How often do you change your oil?

How often do you change your oil?
There was a thread recently on how many miles/year you drive your Olds. I wondered how often folks change the oil in their Olds? I change the oil in my Olds twice a year (once in the spring and once in the fall) regardless of mileage.

I change the oil in my Olds every Spring, regardless of miles driven. I usually put less than 2000 a year on her anyway. For the rest of my cars that are far newer, I change their oil and rotate the tires every 6000 miles.

My daily driving car, 2002 Bravada, I change every 2500 miles. My 70 Cutlass convertible, I have not changed it yet because I dont put more than 10 miles a year. I just drive it around the block. My other 70 Cutlass, I just installed a rebuilt motor last year and the oil is still new. I have not driven it yet. Waiting for a better weather to burn rubber.

I go every 3 years now. Every year I toss good oil out. So it’s like 1,500 every 3 years.
Mobil1, I can of zinc, Baldwin filter. Also my garage is heated, if it was out in the cold and humidity I’d prob still go every year.

I typically change the oil every winter. When I drive a lot it's usually about 4000 miles a year, which is about the mileage for an oil change. If I don't drive that much in the year, it's about time (12 months) for an oil change.

Every spring on both the Olds, every fall on my Dakota and every 10,000 or so km, just over 25% on left on the oil monitor on the Challenger GT, full synthetic and will get that for life, either 0W20 or 5W20.

Every 3 years or so..... I never get to 3000 miles on the oil changes. I have gone longer if the car is only started a time or two a year. Just be sure the oil (not just the water) gets to operating temperature every time you start it. Many people will start their car in the winter to either move it or just to get oil pumping through it thinking they are doing the right thing. If you do not let it get good and hot then you are likely doing more harm than good. The exhaust also needs to get fully hot all the way back or you will have water sitting in it rusting it out.
My daily drivers go around 6000 miles using Mobil 1. The van I drive back and forth to work is an experiment for me. I would have to look it up but I changed oil in it 1 time in around 25,000 miles.

Old school diesel engines people did this all the time. Add a gallon of used oil to about 50 gallons of fuel. You could go richer than that on many of the old school diesels and not hurt a thing. I would never do that on modern diesels. EPA ruined them
