324 ac pulley for balancer

I don't believe the 324 ever offered a 3 groove pulley. The standard car was 1 groove, power steering added a groove and AC added two more grooves since the compressor had two belts. I don't know how you would add a pulley since the pulley is actually part of the harmonic balancer. You will also need the matching water pump pulley. The 4 groove ones are very hard to come by.

actually I have access to a 55 98 with factory ac and it has a 3 groove balancer. I groove for ps, the other 2 for a matched pair of belts that run the generator and ac and they ran like that through 64. One ones tgat I had installed aftermarket ac on they just provided a single pulley that was held on with the main balancer bolt and had a key to grab about 1/8 to 3/16 deep into the existing balancer. I grew uo with these cars and can provide a pic of existing factory ac if it would help ya. Right now I am off frame restoring a 55 Holiday 4dr and have found and bought a working Autronic eye, factory ac, wonderbar radio and now just need a power antenna and power window regulatora for 4 dr hard top. I have a 4 groove harmonic balancer and water pump pulley on my 54. Obviously they did not come on the car. The first two grooves from the front were for the AC compressor and I am only using one on my Sanden compressor. The third groove is for the generator and the last groove is for the power steering. Good luck on your restoration.

Wow...never saw 5hat on any...maybe its because its an aftermarket....if time allows send me a picture of 5hat and I will send you a pic of this 55 98 with factory ac...its all interesting....my 61 s88 with factory ac is the same way...front 2 groves are for gen and ac and the rear groove is for ps......Would love to see pics of yer 54. I am just now finishing the body rotissery so in the next week or 2 I will finally get my 55 body off the frame. Found the complete factory 55 ac less pulleys for $625 to my door including under dash control and duct work as well as copper lines....a real find
