If things go well I will be taking my 4 speed Jetfire. I will have it at Homecoming this year unrestored and start restoring it in July. I think I will have it done on time for the 2020 nationals. I just hope they have a large number of hotels right at the show field. I hate having to drive to the show but the host hotel always sells out to fast for me.

It's an interesting point that the hotel was chosen but no dates listed as well as no club affiliations to do the show...

That has nothing to do with the travel distance!

Was not in the body of the Pres Message, but dates are at the bottom of the page - July 28- Aug 2, 2020. 50th anniversary for the OCA as well.

You're correct,I didn't see that. It must have been a late ad after Wilson wrote his article. Thanks for the info.

I missed it too, until people here were asking when it was, so I looked again.

Never been to Nashville or that area, might have to try to get there. Long trip for me though.

Since I never am able to get reservations at the host hotel I tried today to see if they go that far out. He said I would have to try back in 10 months and laughed. In 10 months I bet they will be full. I will try again in early Summer. At least there are others right there within walking distance.

The Music City Rockets along with others will be assisting with the 2020 Nats. This is the same club that put on the Nats in Bowling Green, KY. If you liked the BG show you'll like the M'boro show.

OCA prevents the host hotel from taking reservations for a Nationals until the rooms officially go on sale at the prior year's Nationals. It they didn't impose that restriction, there would be no rooms available when OCA makes the announcement at this year's Nationals. Even without an event, most hotels won't make reservations more than a year out in any case.

Also, the 2016 Nationals were held in Kingsport Tennessee... Out of the 40 possible sites and the six actual site visits, I am a little surprised a different state wasn't chosen... But I am sure there is good reasoning behind the selection...

I live right here in Murfreesboro and didn't know about that. Looking forward to it now. Do you have to be a member to attend the show? I am not a member but may join either way.

Only have to be a member to enter a car or the sell in the swap meet. You can look all you want with no membership.

I was involved in 3 of the site visits in 2 different states & Murfreesboro had the best combination. The host hotel is a little more expensive then the others we visited but they have a complimentary cooked to order breakfast each morning and free happy hour from 5 till 7:00 p.m.. Also the car show and swap meet are all on the same property.

I stay at a Embassy Suites in Minnesota every year for work and if their breakfast is anything like the one I stay at it is a wonderful breakfast.
