Does anyone know the correct hole size for the 442 emblem on the decklid of a 69? Thank you

I do not know the size off hand. But the clips go in the hole first and then the emblem is pushed on. Such that the clip then expands out and cannot pull back out of the hole. Tom

yes, I was assuming that tango. Wouldnt wont to force the inserts into the wrong size hole, would be hard to get back out. Thanks

I'm also wondering, does anyone know where to get the inserts? Can't seem to find any.

I've found them at a local NAPA Auto Parts store. They're called "tubular nuts". Sorry - don't know exactly which size you need for the trunk numerals but will try to put my hands on a trunk numeral here and see if any of these fit the mounting studs.

The pic definitely shows the wrong design and size barrel clips. The NAPA barrel clips are the correct design but may not be the correct size. All of the Olds resto house vendors sell the correct barrels. I dont think it matters which way the clips are installed. Inserted into the body first or last. I install them on the emblem tightly by slightly closing them down so they bite into the pot metal emblem. Thus emblem removal is simple when waxing and cleaning. Pop emblem off. Wax pop it back in. Doing this for many years,

So I looked up the tubular nuts in the Aveco catalog and it said 3/16 hole, seem to work out good emblems are on.

thanks for the input
