Need good source for reman carb

Need good source for reman carb

I don't know if this is the right thred or not so here goes. I need a good source for a reman 2bbl carburetor for a 1972 Cutlass Supreme with a 350 AT and hot air tube choke. I only have two parts stores in my town and they just don't seem to be very knowledgeable. Any help would greatly be appreciated. My original carb is so terribly shot especially the linkages where they go through the carb housing. I am not that inclined anymore due to my old age and disability. THANKS ALL. The stores I have are Napa and AutoZone.

Why not have your carb rebuilt. Chris's Carb Shop is very good and easy to work with, they are in Dayton Ohio.
Others on this site can give you there shops with there success. This way you keep what came on your car and will be better than when it came out of the factory.
The remanufactured carbs from who knows where do just what is needed to get it back out the door to be resold.

What's the difference between a "rebuilt" carburetor and a "remanufactured" carburetor? Aren't they the same thing?

I would assume "rebuilt" would mean factory original .
The term "re-manufactured" would be anything aftermarket. That's my way of thinking .

Aren't these exact opposites? How can something be original if it's been rebuilt?

I think the difference is whose carburetor it is. If it's YOUR carburetor, it's been rebuilt. If it's a carburetor that you bought from a store who got it from a rebuilding service who rebuilt someone else's carb that they turned in when they themselves bought a replacement carb, then it's been "remanufactured." Makes it sound more official. I don't think there is any functional difference.

A rebuilt unit has the right everything in terms of numbers and optioned parts. A reman unit may not, but it works.

I've got a couple of these carbs that came on running driving cars. They're used, but I'd be willing to sell you one for $20 plus shipping from Oregon if you wanted to give it a try.
