A Heads cores ??

What is the going rate for good A head cores?
What engines had A heads?

Any 1965 400 or 425 had A heads. Going rate depends somewhat on your part of the country, in my area they're about the same price as C heads, $125-175 range for core heads.

I was thinking about flowing one to see how it stacks up against my factory replacement KA heads using the same valves and seat cuts.

Bernhard, I'd forgotten you created this thread. In another thread you asked what the rocker assembly looks like on the A heads. Here's a few picture. But note, the head with the rockers have the pad for A.I.R. cast into it, but they don't have the bumps on the inside of the ports. I've got three of these heads, one with the 442 V code. These are not the typical A head casting. The photo of the head without rockers is the typical A head casting and you can see there's no pad like the later heads. The 1964 330 heads have the same shape but used a rail like rocker system like the 394's. The 1965 330 heads used the same rocker setup as the A heads used.
