Local car. Thinking about going to look at it. Any opinions on what it might be worth? Here is the ad.

Car runs and drives. Has 455 rocket and and 400 tbh transmission . Dual exhaust. I'd call it a project but with a little work could be daily driven. Interior has been redone by previous owner but a pack rat got into while in storage(before me). Needs some tires too but all hold air. Clean title. Cash talks..NO TRADES

How much is original how much is clapped together....et..al...

I'd say the $40K is pretty much off the table.

Thanks guys. That is all he has for the description on his ad. he is asking $4K for it. Just by what I see, I am more in the $2500 to $3K range. I was just wanting some opinions to see if I was off base. I may go take a look at it this weekend. The guys is moving and says he is motivated to sell.

Yeah, you really need to see it in person. Don't forget to take along a Spot-Rot or at least a magnet and have a good look around underneath. Mechanical issues are a lot easier to fix than rust and Bondo. If the body's solid, then $3K would be a pretty good deal.

Just taking another look at that driver's side quarter -- it looks like it might have some bad things going on around the wheel arch.
