Battery cable mount location

Battery cable mount location
I have a 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass with a 455 in it. I would like to know where the stock location of where to mount the negative battery cable to? I cannot seem to find this anywhere.

Check your 1969 Cutlass/4-4-2 assembly manual, manual section 12, page 131. It shows routing with or without A/C. If you don't have an assembly manual for your car, I highly recommend obtaining one. They are easily available through ebay and a wealth of information at your fingertips.

I have the assembly manual on its way. Thanks for the reply. Just to make sure I fully understand, you are referring to using one of the bolts that holds the power steering pump to the engine block?

No, don't use any of the P/S bolt holes or P/S bracket holes.
See the bolt in behind the pump with the silver ground cable end with black negative batt cable going to it.

It is a shallow hole too so you will need the correct bolt and star washer to be correct. The black bolts in the Fusick link are what I am referring to. Make sure all your grounds are clean and tight. Factory hardware goes a long way to ensuring factory spec grounds. Clean your positives too at the battery and at the starter. Same for the alternator connections. Clean connections = less resistance = less heat = a happy car.

Don't hesitate to ask any questions here, so many guys here to help. A Chassis Service Manual will certainly come in handy for doing the actual job once your questions have been answered.
Cruzn 66 always has nice manuals for sale here , you could PM him and ask if he has any available when your ready.
I keep my manual on my fender when quick reference while working on most area's of my car.
