all kinds of fun could follow this thread------

just to clarify the question---are you asking whether the dipstick will fit the diameter of the tube OR whether you will get the correct reading as to the oil level in the pan? quick solution --- change the oil & filter on the 330 --to proper amount of oil. give her all the dipstick she can handle --- score the dipstick at the proper level. that 330 will have a smile for quite a time.

length & girth ---important factors here

The dipstick (called an "indicator" in the parts book) must match the tube. If you swap both the tube and the dipstick from the 350 to the 330, then yes it will read correctly. The oil pans are the same on both motors, as is the location on the block where the tube inserts.

tube is the original one for the 330....just no dipstick...I see only 350 ones on supercars so that's why I was wondering if the 350 dipstick will work with the 330 tube.

Unlikely. Of course, all you have to do is drain the oil, install new oil and filter, run the engine for a few minutes to distribute the oil, let it sit, and then mark the new dipstick at that oil level.

Have you checked with any of the folks on this site who are high volume Olds parts sellers?

I wonder is the dipstick is the same as the original tube ? I got a replacement set-up but the original dipstick wouldn't seat correctly in the new tube.
