Cutlass 4 spoke rally sport steering wheel

Does anyone know if the rally sport steering wheel used on early 70's 442's will fit my '69 Cutlass S ?
If not does anyone know where I could find something similar looking ( a repro) that would ?
Thanks !

I would like to know also. Any issues with horn button, etc?

It will fit. I think you may need a different turn signal cam and horn contact to do it. For the 67 guy, if it's going on a 67, I think it's a no-go. It will go on, but the hubs are different, the 67 hub is smaller. For a 3 spoke wheel you can get a smaller hub. For a 4 spoke wheel only the larger 69 up hub is available.

Let's clarify a few things:

All 1969-up steering columns (except tilt-and-travel) have the same upper end. The four spoke hub fits all of them. No changes to the cancel cam are required - the plastic tube fits right up through the hole in the hub. The horn contact hardware is exactly the same in all cases. You can get a kit with the eyelet, spring, and plastic retainer for about $7 from most of the Camaro repro houses.

The larger hub WILL fit the smaller diameter 1967-68 column, but it looks silly. I prefer to use the hub from a 1964-66 Impala two-spoke sport wheel. This is the correct smaller diameter, and it has the same 6-bolt pattern to mount the Olds wheel. It accepts the same horn ring and contact hardware. The small diameter hub from the three-spoke "wood" wheel can also be used with the four-spoke, but that hub has a notch for the third spoke.

Large diameter hub:

Small diameter three spoke wheel hub (note the notch):

Small diameter Impala hub (note there is no notch):

One thing I would like to clarify, this is not a "442 steering wheel". Many 442s came with the standard (non-sport) steering wheel, and the sport wheel could be ordered on any just about any Cutlass model.

Actually, it's a Faux-Four-Two steering wheel, since ever single one has one.

No, don't get me started on the hood, or the stripes.

What's different about the tilt steering wheels? The hub is above the tilt bowl, no??

Read it again. I didn't say "tilt", I said "tilt and travel"

The problems usually come in when you are trying to go back to a stock steering wheel after some numnut put a idiotic ugly custom wheel on the car. Then you have to go part hunting to get it back to stock.

Thanks for the info, the original steering wheel on my 69 442 is ugly, so I am looking for a early 70's Cutlass sport steering wheel with a Camaro installation kit?

If you want to use a 70 and up Oldsmobile 4 spoke wheel on your 69 then use a 70 model installation kit. The 69 column is the same diameter as the 70 and up.

Most sport wheels you will find for sale are missing the horn contact parts. Since Camaros, Corvettes, and Chevelles use the same parts, they are reproduced and available pretty much everywhere. This is the eyelet kit I mentioned for $7:

And once again, the spring goes in the hole FIRST, then the eyelet, then the plastic retainer ring.

If you need the horn contact ring, they are also readily available.
