Took the family to the Celtic Festival in Albuquerque today and saw this beauty. My guess is that Truly Nolan is a sponsor of the event. The owner really didn't know much about the car, not even the size of the engine. Some of the chrome work is a bit rusty and the engine bay is in need of detail work but the body looks nice. Told him about CO, hope he shows up.

I was a bit confused by that too. He was very proud of it and enjoyed showing it to us but he knew almost nothing about it. Hopefully he can visit CO and learn more about it.

It bugs me a little when a old car owner gets all his repair or resto by someone else. But getting old, I understand maybe not having the ability, tools or equipment. It really annoys me when someone uses their wallet to get into the old car community and has no clue, and doesn't want to be a car guy, just pose as one. To me, that ain't a car guy.

Example as to cluelessness ......years ago I was at a hot rod run and saw a really nice '32 hiboy roadster with the usual small block Chevy.. I spoke to the somewhat snobbish owner and asked him about the engine, he said it was a "380" chevy. I asked him what make stroker crank he used and he said it doesn't have a stroker crank. I asked him then how is it a "380" cubic inch engine? He said it's "bored 30 over, that's what makes it a 380 chevy". Well I immediately started laughing as did 3 other guys that were listening. He got really pissed and wouldn't listen to us telling him he was full of chit and his chevy was a 355. I don't think the guy ever turned a wrench on that car.

Beautiful car nonetheless! Everyone has got to start somewhere in terms of learning.. Just got deep into resto five years back and remember being the embarrassed guy who knew nothing lol
