Cruise Control bellows end plate ID??

I know that the "cap" on the R in the pic is for the front of the bellows assembly since it has the vacuum hose attachment and the stud...BUT...

Trying to figure out the application for the "cap" on the LEFT....has the threaded stud but no vacuum hose attachment port. Didn't think this piece went on the other end of the bellows as, for '70 at least, that had a bracket with a ball stud in the middle.

Thanks

Hey Patton,

It's hard to see, but does the end cap on the right have "P.C." stamped on opposite side from the port?

Mike - Yes....BOTH end caps have "P.C." stamped in them. Thanks, I forgot to mention that earlier. Pic below......the "ported" cap is on the R. The "P.C." on the other cap (on the L) isn't real visible in the pic but it's just the camera/pic....clearly visible in person and not "wiped out" etc.

It looks correct to me, let me see if I can find some images of mine. I do know there is no port on the back. I have only seen this set up on 1970 cars only. Were they on 69s or earlier? If so I have not seen them.

I found one of OldsAl's threads showing a '70 setup and the rear " end cap" on his bellows has the 90 degree tab with the ball attachment (which I know is correct for the rear "end cap"). And I know the ported end cap goes on the front. So....WTH is this non-ported/studded end cap!!??? .

I'm not familiar w/69's as much so I'll look at a CSM and see if there are any pics/clues.....thanks

Looked up the cruise stuff in the '69 CSM and it shows the B&C bodies to use the style used on a '70 Abody with the metal end caps (stud/port on front cap as shown above and rear end cap has the bracket w/ball).

For '69 Abody they show a different style bellows....looks like the '72 style (not sure which one '71's got).

Yes, the 1969 is different, this thread has pictures of it on a 1969 Vista Cruiser. I've also got a 1971 Cutlass wagon with cruise control and its bellows looks just like the 1970. John

Thanks - Yes, the pics look like the unit shown in the '69 CSM.

Just realized that yes the backing plate should have a ball stud on it attached to a bracket that has a right angle to it.

I double checked it illustrates it in the '70 CSM
