Transporting a Convertible tub ideas

I need to get a 65 Cutlass convertible tub from Fond du lac Wisconsin to north of Seattle Wa. not having much luck on quotes so far, had a couple of quotes on u-ship for over $4000. but I can't make that work in the budget.
Does anybody have any ideas or contacts I could check, looking for around $1000. hopefully with inside or flat bed shipping (doesn't matter to me)
Had some quotes through freight center for under $1000. so I bought the tub then went to book only to get told sorry we can't do that (had even spoke to an agent)

If you can get it strapped to a pallet, try Fastenal. Shipment will be from store-to-store, so you need to get it to their store and pick it up from their store. They have forklifts at their loading docks.

Seems to me that the issue is that they don't have any way of moving or loading it. It may be that you have to mount the tub on a couple of 4x4s and then mount some casters to the 4x4s to be able to roll the car.

The last car I had shipped was by Ace Auto Transport and I was very happy with them. Shoot an email to don@aceautotransport.com. He was a great guy to work with. He may have a solution for you.

You can try this guy too. His Name is Tom he is a Pontiac guy and lives not far from me. I think he just took a load that way so might get a deal or at least get him to back haul it.

Hope that helps

I had the idea a few weeks ago when I needed to get parts from John McNeel in Oregon to L.A. I got a lot of response by just posting on Craigslist in and around the cities the parts are coming from, in their community/ ride-share section. I think for a few hundred dollars you can probably find a guy with a trailer who is on his way to you to pick something up and would take your shell on the way back!

Looks like I got something worked out through Action Transport with Road Runner Trucking, keeping my fingers crossed that it will happen
