I'm too young (or not old enough?) to really remember the show. Its funny to look back now & see the fine craftsmanship on the tail lights & knock offs

I remember the show, but not that car. Of course I was only 11 at the time and back then I really liked mopar better.

I can't say that the custom touches are doing the early Toro any favors. The grill isn't an improvement over stock, the convertible doesn't really work with the (former) fastback roofline, and the side pipes while keeping the stock dual exhaust and cutout back bumper is just stupid.

Interestingly, it's a loaded Calif car with the A.I.R. system intact.

Early Toronados are cars that are best left alone. I am yet to see one that is heavily modified that looks better than what the factory did.

X2. A Toro is maybe the one Olds I would have over any other, leaving the factory design unmodified.

Style

IMO the 66-70 Toros were the go to cars for style. I especially love the 68-70 GT series.
i agree with JP's comments. Sorry to those Barris fans, but way to wreck a nice car George....

Cool car; I always thought the front end served as inspiration for the 1970 Toros.

Here's another Toronado that George Barris did.

I think this one is nicer, but I still prefer the styling of the stock Toronados.
