Ethanol Fuel Blends

I read an article about the boat industry having problems with carburetor engines using Ethanol Fuel Blends. The article goes on to say the alcohol in gas effects rubber and plastic in fuel lines gas tanks and carburators especially in older vehicles and small engines. The vehicles of today are built with sufficiently durable rubber and plastic to withstand alcohol on these parts.

Most of you may already know this but I thought I would pass this along to give everyone something to think about the next time you buy gas for your older vehicle.

As an aside the same is true for biofuel. Tends to scour resin buildup and deposits, and will clog up fuel filters.
