ac vacuum??

hello, I have a 1971 Cutlass. I may have disconnected a vacuum hose, but I'm not sure. when I turn on the ac there is cold air coming from the floor vent, where the heater air comes from. I think I may have connected it wrong or disconnected my hose(s) incorrectly.
in the pic i think my issues are what I have circled. what is that valve on number 1, and on number 2 I only have one hose on the left connected. Also it looks as if the left hose on number 2 is spliced in with another hose.
Does anyone have an actual picture of the back of the temp control and where they are connected? or any help with this will be helpful.

thanks

I don't know about the hose connections to the dash control but I do know that if you don't have the two hoses connected to the vacuum reservoir on the engine side of the firewall that you get the same issue of the air blowing out of the floor vent only.

Below are some pics I snagged off the web:
The vacuum reservoir is in the top right of this picture:

Here's a close up showing the vacuum line connections:

Thanks for the response. The air blows our of the dashboard vents AND the floor vent. The pic of the firewall hoses I may have correct. It's inside the dashboard the temperature control vacuum hoses is my concern. The one that has about two or three hoses attached to it not the one that has most of the vacuum lines attached to it I only have one hose attached to that one and I'm not sure it's connected correctly.
