Fuel Leak 92 Trofeo

Thought I would repair the fuel leak on my 92 Trofeo today... Seemed to leak fuel out the filler tube whenever I put gas in it, and if I filled it completely it would continue to leak a little for a day or two depending how much I drove it... Thought it might only be the hose connection between the tank and fill tube... Not my luck, tube was completely rotted... Then I started looking over the tank and saw a lot of seepage spots, not leaks, but wet spots... Now the job is change the filler tube, tank, and fuel pump & filter... At least I got it all apart today, I'll put it all back together in a day or two... I was fortunate to already have a spare tank and filler tube, now just need to purchase a pump and filter (surprised I didn't have them too, had pumps and filters for a few other vehicles but not the Trofeo)...

Interesting point is the vehicle is a very low mileage (63K) one owner driven year round by the wife of a person I knew from one of the Olds/Cad dealerships in the area... What really caused the rust issue was the fact that the vehicle was parked in a heated garage in the winters and the constant salt/water reactions (salt and snow melting) from the heat in the garage... This isn't the first vehicle I have seen and owned where this type condition, from being parked in heated garages, has occurred...

On the road again... Changed tank, filler tube, pump & screen... Fortunately I did have all of the parts I needed in my stock... The hoarding payed off, It's always good to repair something without out of pocket expenses...
