My new truck!

Here are some pics of my new truck. It's a 1986 Ford F-250 XLT Lariat. It's a supercab longbed 6.9L diesel 4x4. It has 124k miles on it. Oldsguy and I drove to Springfield, MO on Saturday and I bought it from a gent that couldn't keep it because he didn't have enough garage space. I have a space in my garage for it but I need to move my spare 455 and TH 400 first. Priorities:

Thank you sir. If I find an Oldsmobile in need of a frame-off restoration someday I can tow it home with my truck.

Great score... Being an 86 you can even insure it as a classic...

Congrats. That is really low mileage for a 1986. With the diesel in it that truck has at least another 200,000 miles in it. You are never going to wear that one out.

Reminds me of my old man's Bronco. Get wax on the paint so it lasts. Keep the trans in good fluid, Ford auto trans's can go boom. Those power windows can burn motors and break the plastic drive gears; at least you don't have to do the Bronco power tailgate one. The Ford front 4x4 bearings are a beeeeeeeeeeeyitch to service. Special tools are needed. We offroaded ours for deer hunting, so the water required it. Street duty for yours will require less servicing. That's all the 86 Ford Truck info I have, other than gasoline only engine stuff, which does not apply here.

Don't run any of that Eco diesel corn oil crap in it. Those stanadyne injection pumps don't like it.

I don't plan on running any eco/bio diesel besides what is at the pumps already. In OK it seems all of the diesel pumps are B15. I filled up with B20 on the way home from Springfield, but it's running fine.
