Looking at a 4 speed transmission

Here are the numbers I can see-
Passenger side
13 04 065 903 903= aluminum case right?
W G DIV
m 6 9 <-- is this a date code?

This trans is from a 1976 Firebird with a 455 and comes with a bell housing clutch fork, but no shift linkage.

Opinions?

If its really from a 455 Firebird, a pontiac restorer would probably pay decent money for it, and you could take that money and buy a better trans for your olds

I can't tell you what those codes mean, but that's what a '76 455 T/A came with: BW Super T-10. Mine also came w/ factory Hurst T-handle shifter, which was optional over the base junk.

So, what would you say is a better transmission in your opinion. From what I have read on the internet the Super T-10 is comparable to a M-20 or M-21 Muncie.

This is primarily for a street driven car that may see infrequent track time.
