Does anyone know where I can find this type of wheel? I took the stock SSIII's off of my Olds a few years ago and replaced them with Cragars. I like them a lot but when I saw these I said to myself "There is the perfect combo between the SSIII and the Cragar."

I'd like to pick up a set, but the only place that I have found so far that sells them is Antique Tyres out of Australia. I'd prefer something a little closer.

They don't make them anymore. Production was stopped a few years ago and strictly SSI type are being made now. They are just new production SSIII's only way now is to find a factory set. Or take a set of factory steel ones and have them chromed or polished. You could find a set of factory chrome 14" and have the center rewelded into new chrome hoops by a wheel company or shop.

The number is eluding me. Does anyone remember what the backspacing is for a '71 cutlass? I keep thinking that the bolt is 5x4.75 inches and the backspacing is either 4.25 or 4.5 inches, but I'm not entirely sure.

Any ideas?

Looks like I'm going to have to wait a few months on picking these up. Turns out, with shipping, it's going to cost $1000 for a set of 4 wheels and then $500 for the tires if I want to change back down to 14s.

I hear ya there. By the time I added up the four wheels, shipping, exchange rate and taxes plus rubber it was sounding pretty painful.


What I'd sure like to know is whether they're actually still available. Seems a bit odd for them to still be listed in the catalogue if they've been out of production for a couple years.

I just called Wheel Vintiques and the salesman told me that the wheels are in stock. However, the SSII caps have to be bought separately. So, that's $200 per wheel and another $68 per cap. Grand total with shipping $1272.

I was just starting to think that maybe I could pick these up (if I sold the Cragars) until he told me about the caps. That definitely puts them out of my price range for the time being. Oh well.

Will OEM caps work. Oldsmobile made tons of snap on caps, you could probably find some good used caps for a lot cheaper then that.

Not sure. Looking at pictures, the caps look slightly different. But it could just be the way the picture was taken. What do you think?

The one on the left is from Wheel Vintiques, and the one on the right is a repop of the original from Fusick.

Ask them if their caps will fit OEM wheels. If they do then OEM caps should fit their wheels too.

It looks like wheel vintiques are making the wheels again according to and article I saw on FB. Go with Curt because he's one of us and you can set the BS at whatever you want without being charged for custom!
