Had a '70 Vette with 350/350 tran, not sure what they did to motor before I bought it, but it was "scary fast". Strange how the rear suspension pulls down under hard acceleration.

OK I am a W-31 fan. I think I can speak on experience and authority on both cars. Why? Well, I drove an awful lot of them, especially the 69-70 W-31 and the 70-72 W-30, both automatic and 4 speed, as I had a "Michigan manufacturers plate" with magnets epoxied to the back of the plate. During spring, summer, and fall I would take one to lunch about two to three times a week. Why do I prefer the W-31? Well it is a very well balanced car, in acceleration, handling, and is as fast as a W-30, but only with the 3:91 gear. It does not get "tail happy" in hard cornering like the heavy front end of the 442 with a big block. The W-31 is about 200 # s lighter in the front. I always felt the highly developed and engineered FE2 suspension was the best than any other GM divisions hi-po suspension! Ya the W-30 had the horsepower, torque, cost a lot more to buy, and had the "442" stick, however the W-31 was a much better all around car and a lot less $$$.

I was referring to your question on the 1970 Pace Car values not on the 1970 vs 1972 W-30 vs W-30. The answer is because the performance of a Cutlass Pace Car is far inferior to that of a 442 Pace Car the value is similarly lower by a wide margin.
