72 Cutless Supreme Instrument Cluster

I'm trying to help someone order an oil pressure/ water temp guage to put in place of the clock position that has a blank on it. We want one dual or one quad guage in that hole. What size hole is that? The car is not in town right now. It's being shipped. Who should I order the guage from. any help would be nice. Car is 72 Cutless Supreme.

A Sun Super Tach fits in the hole nicely and the online spec for the tach shows 3 3/8" diameter.

Speedhut has a large variety of gauges in a number of sizes. As for size...get a car/dash, remove the bezel...take accurate measurements. Another option is the rally pack.......repops available from most of the parts houses (fuel/temp/pressure) made to fit(left of speedo)....will look like the speedo......a tach would fit in the clock opening....could get a (tic-toc-tach)

Thanks Dace26. I found a gauge at speed hut that may work. I hope 3.375" will fit the clock hole okay. What do you think?

I would take the bezel off and get an exact measurement before ordering.

These are the "rally pac" gauges. Available from most parts houses and will be an exact fit.

Any common 3 3/8" gauge can be mounted to the gauge panel. It will be in FRONT of the panel, while the other gauges are BEHIND the panel. Doesn't look fantastic, but quick, cheap, easy.
With time and creativity you can fabricate a mounting ring that mounts in the stock place and holds an aftermarket gauge. Clearance with the gauge panel will be a challenge, but the gauge certainly can fit in there.
Rally pac is swanky, but there are wiring mods and $$$ that go along with that.

Thanks Oddball. I didn't know it would be sticking out in front of panel.

Autometer 3 3/8 tach mounted behind the panel. I modified a broken clock housing to make the mounting bracket.

The clock hole has a blank in it now 4speed455 so I may be able the use that blank bracket to mount the new gauge.

This is what it looks like if you use the trim, itself, as the mounting ring.

Or you can fabricate something to mount the gauge to behind the trim, like an old clock.
