Question Member who cleaned primer paintjob off & exposed original paint

Kind of a long shot-
I have been running searches, and I cannot locate the thread, but i know I saw it here. I think in the projects subforum.

There was a member who had purchased a car (i think a 68 cutlass) and it was primered black... They used a chemical of some kind and managed to get all the black primer off to reveal decent looking original paint (green i think).

Can anyone remember this members name, or point me back to the thread?

Ring any bells for anyone?

Thanks!
Ben

If the primer was not catalyzed or it was a spray bomb type paint there is a good chance that you can wash it off with lacquer thinner or a graffiti remover and not hurt the original finish.I have done this on my Land Cruiser when it was vandalized and the paint came off and did no damage to the finish underneath......
