Meaning of Y68 "color comp ex" option on a 1970 build sheet

I have that option as the last one on a build sheet. It was a customer ordered car and can't seem to find the meaning.

The only info that I could find is the following:

Y68 By Pass Color - Trim Edit

I do not know exactly what this means. Hope it helps.

What is the color and interior of the car? Is this the gold one?

Yes. I think you and I discussed this before.

The only thing I remember is that I couldn't figure it out either.

Remind me which gold it was?

Is it possible it was a stripe-delete? Or some trim combo that normally wasn't offered (I know Galleon Gold was available with gold stripes, so there goes that theory)?

My SX convertible has this option as well and my current theory is it deleted the black stripe down the CS lower mouldings..

As far as I know, that's a code to void the common color arrangements. "Yeah, he wants the red body, white top, yellow stripe, and blue interior. I don't know either, but he ordered it."

there are 4 (complete) build sheets posted in the other thread w/"Y68" on them:build sheet 1970 box 44 questions

two of them are "galleon gold" with "gold" interior & "brown" vinyl top - not a recommended combination - an "EXEMPTION" would make sense

the third is "nugget gold" with "gold" interior & "galleon gold"? stripes - why would it require an "EXEMPTION"? too much "GOLD"?

the fourth is "burgundy" with "black" interior & top and "white" stripes - again, why? I see no color compatibility issues.

from my charts, the galleon gold with brown top and gold interior (my car in question) all show as oldsmobile recommended colors. They show gold stripes as acceptable on a code 55 car and the brown top is also acceptable with galleon gold code 55. some of the other golds were not recommended with the brown top.
