1970 F85 Flintstone-mobile
OK, those of you old enough to remember the cartoon would know right away that the new car in my driveway has the floorboards rotted out! Fred used his feet to propel his car with no floorboards.
Back to the car, a buddy of mine was restoring a 1970 Rallye 350 post car. He purchased this F85 for parts. But life changed and he sold the Rallye before he removed much off this car. Then he asked me if I wanted this car to part out. Who me, turn down an Oldsmobile? I do have an extra floorpan cut out from a 1971 Supreme many years ago. But saving this car would be a big challenge. If someone wanted it I would sell it whole and add the floor pan. I still need to open the trunk (hope there's no dead bodies in there!) and generally crawl over the car. It has some dents, but the lower body looks fairly solid considering the floorboards are so far gone. Its a Fremont built car and if I'm reading the trim tag right it was number 784 that rolled off the assembly line that year. It has the F85 steering wheel and a radio delete panel ( I know, adding a radio was an option deleting one was not. But I've seen so few of these over the years I still want to call it a "delete panel") It looks like it was originally gold on gold with a painted roof (white?). My buddy pulled the doors from it but I have them in the shed now. Manual steering manual drum brakes, it has the brick shaped wiper motor rather than the round one. One dog dish hubcap but its badly dinged up. So now the pictures...
