Trick shift fluid in jetaway. Does it help

Has anyone ever used Trick Shift Tranny Fluid in Jetaway. I was wondering if its better, helps with harder shifts and will help extend the life of the tranny. Thanks, your advise will be appreciated.

Yea but my car is a #'s 66 f85. I want to keep it original but was wondering if the trickshift can help with the Jetway having better shifts and help with that 1st gear whine. Also if it extends the life of the tranny.

Do you really think something out of a bottle is going to fix your transmission whine? Once you start hearing noises it's usually a mechanical problem. A whine is usually the front pump. I understand Trick Shift is very close to Type F so it gives you firmer shifts but maybe not something you could actually feel. If you're fortunate it may be nothing more than a dirty filter/screen in which case I would just put a new one in and and top if off with Type F, Dexron or whatever you'd like. If I'm not mistaken Jetaways used Type A but good luck finding that. I appreciate you want to keep it numbers matching but you may be looking at a tear down of that tranny soon. Don't believe the hype out there. Mechanic in a bottle isn't going to fix it. I just tossed my Jetaway because of it's slipping issues.

My '64 jetaway does not whine at all and neither does my '68 jetaway.
sounds like you have problems starting.

It certainly does not slip. The whine when you put it in park, sorry not first. When you put it in gear motors quiets down put inpark and neutral it makes a whine sound. My tranny is fine, and was rebuild by the original owner several years ago.

I put the type F in my tranny for a firmer shift. It's probably cheaper than the trick shift.
