Texas megamansion
Couldn't resist sharing this piece of real estate for sale in Texas... More then 63000 square feet... Should be plenty of space within those walls to house a large Olds collection...

That is a classic case of somebody have more money and ego than sense. If this thing were in a major metropolitan area the vandals and/or homeless would have broken in a long time ago and probably burned it down. It is disgusting when somebody does something this stupid. This thing is almost 1 1/2 acres under roof. 30 bedrooms and 30 full baths, what the hell were they thinking?

Yes, but go look at the GoogleEarth and StreetView photos:
The article said that his wife said it was too big, so he abandoned it and built one that was only 40,000 sqft next door, and sure enough, right next door is a nearly identical building, only with a neat lawn, and about 25% shorter front to back than this one.
THAT's the part that's crazy.

I think I saw a write up of this house somewhere here in TX. The guy went broke someone bought it, but the inside hasn't been finished off and it is completely bare on the inside and also has an unfinished Olympic? sized pool in it, unfinished. I think it's for sale again. Whoever bought it bit off a little more than they could chew through. It's a freaking monster. Edit: May not be the same house Eric. Maybe the same house, different story? Ha ha, who knows. I'm sure the taxes would be enough to scare any normal person.

I used to live just down the road from there a bit closer to the coast in Lake Jackson and later in Angleton. There's hardly ever any tornadoes but there is a LOT of rainfall from tropical storms, hurricanes, and massive thunderstorms. Also being on the coastal plain means dig a hole and it will fill up with water.
